Hatcheries experience a wide variety of pathogenic contamination during their entire cycle, from farm to incubator to hatching (the hatching stage having the highest amount of contamination) which must be constantly monitored. In addition to flawless housekeeping, there must also be a good regime of sanitation and disinfection.
In the ongoing effort to reduce post-hatching lethality in hatcheries, ozone can be a great benefit in both its gaseous and aqueous forms.
